Bus Rapid Transit will be a new revolutionary mode of transport linking the urban centres of Rotherham and Sheffield, in the form of 2 routes with the Northern routes running via the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield and the Southern route running via the new Waverley development in Rotherham.

Currently the consultation for BRT Southern which would run via the Sheffield Parkway into Rotherham, serving the following areas of Rotherham, Waverley, Catcliffe, Brinsworth & Canklow has currently ended. The reports from this consultation report can be found on the South Yorkshire Bus Rapid Transit website, under, BRT Southern.

Consultation is currently open on the BRT Northern which would run via the A6178 between Rotherham and Sheffield, via Attercliffe, Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Tinlsey and Templeborough.
