We've launched a new section today (17th August 2009) to the Traffic section of our website. The new section, called Speed Cameras does exactly what it says on the tin, it provides a complete list of all speed camera locations across the 4 boroughs of South Yorkshire and also contains a list of the location of the mobile speed cameras, which will be updated per each week.

This section we feel fills the void left in the Traffic section of this website and comes as a resilt of feedback regarding all of our websites and forum, when we asked for your views back in early July. We've split the new section of the Traffic website into 4 easy to view sections which are,

• Fixed Location - Fixed Cameras are cameras that are permanently in place at the selected location to monitor speed and are usually placed at accident black spots across South Yorkshire, to help and keep speed down in the selected area.

• Mobile Location - Mobile Cameras are cameras that are temporarily in place from time to time in place at the selected location to monitor speed and are usually placed at accident black spots across South Yorkshire, to help and keep speed down in the selected area.

• Time Over Distance - Time Over Distance Cameras are cameras that are permanently in place at the selected location to monitor speed and give an average reading. They monitor speed over a selected length of route by calculating your speed and the time taken to arrive between 2 cameras, to help and keep speed down in the selected area.

• Red Light - Red Light Cameras are cameras that are permanently in place at the selected location to monitor vehicles that drive through red lights at selected traffic signals in the 4 boroughs of South Yorkshire. They also monitor the speed at which the vehicle is travelling at, to see if the vehicle was justified to go through a red light or not.

We've also added the location of Mobile Speed cameras across the 4 boroughs of South Yorkshire, which will be updated every week, as soon as we have news on the locations of the mobile speed cameras.
