Yesterday (2nd February 2009) the forum & website reached a new milestone by having more than 1,000 unique users access our forum and website in just 24 hours. In total we had 2,653 unique users access our forum and websites in total yesterday (2nd February 2009). Around two thirds of these users were accessing our Jam Cams section, more than likely to check on the roads and how they were running across South Yorkshire due to the recent weather which has caused some major problems across South Yorkshire. The Jam Cams section is already the busiest section of our website, with most users that visit our website, visiting the Jam Cams section to view the traffic cameras on the Motorway network across South Yorkshire and the Sheffield network of cameras, right across Sheffield.
So far today up to 19:00 GMT there have been 907 unique users accessing our forum and website today (3rd February 2009).
Our usual number is around 300 per all the websites and around 400 per the forum, bringing the combined total to around 700 unique visitors in 24 hours on average. This is considerably higher though on Sundays which is the forums busiest day, which can reach up to 600 unique visitors.
We are very please with this new milestone and with the forum and websites coming up to their 3rd birthday shortly, we feel this has been a major accomplishment in our short but vibrant history.
Thanks,
Staff at South Yorkshire Transport
