Almost 200 Stagecoach East Midlands drivers are to go on strike on Monday 24th August, over a row about pay and conditions within the company. The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) said the drivers at the Mansfield and Worksop depots are to walk out on Monday 24th August.

The strike will come effective as of 00:01 on Monday 24th August 2009 and remain in place for 24 hours, until 00:01 on Tuesday 25th August 2009.

Emergency timetables will be put into action across Mansfield and Worksop on Monday 24th August in a bid to cause as little disruption to the travelling public as possible.

This strike will affect the following routes in South Yorkshire,

• 19 - Rotherham to Worksop via Thurcroft & Dinnington.
• 19A - Rotherham to Worksop via Thurcroft & Dinnington.
• 19B - Rotherham to Dinnington via Thurcroft.
• 22 - Doncaster to Worksop via Tickhill.
• 25 - Doncaster to Harworth via Bawtry.
• 31A - Doncaster to Worksop via Tickhill.
• 53 - Sheffield to Mansfield.

Stagecoach East Midlands service 99 (Doncaster to Retford via Bawtry) is unaffected by this strike, due to this route been operated out of the Gainsborough depot in Lincolnshire.
