South Yorkshire Transport | News // Forum Access Issues

Due to a power outage at the data centre in Houston, Texas, we are currently dealing with an issue with our hosts "The Planet" to try and get the forum back online as soon as is practically possible. This is affecting a large number of forums running with the Proboards software, which are hosted by The Planet in Texas.

We have no estimated time of when the forum will be back online at this point. We will keep you updated as ever through this website.

The Planet have informed us that they have now found the problem that has caused this outage of the forum, though at this time, as mentioned about, they've given us no ETA of when this problem is likely to be fixed.

In the worst case scenario, the forum could be offline for up to 24 hours. We are hoping as are The Planet, that the problem will be fixed by 3am BST, though at the moment from early reports, it seems that the solution is not just a quick fix sadly.

Some of you may be thinking why is this website online when the forum is offline. The answer to this question is quite simple, we have 2 different hosts, one for the forum and one for this website. So if one fails as with what has happened this evening, the other is still online to give members and guests up to date news on the latest information regarding this situation.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you this evening, though this is currently beyond our control.

The forum went offline at 11:28pm BST. This message was compiled at 0:10am BST.

Thanks,
Staff at South Yorkshire Transport
