We are pleased to announce a new service this week at South Yorkshire Transport. We have added a brand new section to this website called 'Gallery' and this will house a collection of all future Background Photo submissions from October 2009. For those of you who are unaware of what the Background Photo poll is, this is for members to submit a max of up to 10 photos per month, which are then narrowed down to 6 by the staff members on the forum, ready to be put to a member vote and the winning photo, becomes the background of the forum for 1 consecutive month. This has been taking place since August 2006.

The new Gallery section will show all photos that are submitted to us, even those that don't make the final poll on the forum and will also be complemented by a short brief description of each photo, such as the vehicle in question, where this was taken and which member has submitted this photo into us.

Each of the categories will be split into each month of the year, so that it is easier to find photos that you are looking for, in the future. Please note that no existing background photos will be submitted to this new section prior to October 2009. This will only include all new submissions for October 2009 onwards.

The opening date for the background photo submissions in September is Thursday September 17th 2009 and the closing date for submissions will be Wednesday 23rd September 2009. The same procedures will be followed as per before, the only difference is now, all members of the forum and guests to this site can view all photo submissions for each month from the September Background Photo submissions.

Also, all members will now acknowledge that all photos that are submitted from September 2009, will be used in the new Gallery section, though these will be watermarked and also contain general information, such as where the photo was taken and what member actually took the photo / uploaded the photo. All photos submitted could also now be used from time to time on the South Yorkshire Transport forum and websites, such as the images in the top left corner on each page and other pictures / promotional products regarding to either the South Yorkshire Transport forum or our websites.

Please note that all new pictures submitted in to us for the background competition should be sent to background[@]sy-transport.co.uk and you should leave a quick and brief description of where the photo was taken and if you can remember, what day and time it was taken. All photos must be at least 768 pixels wide by 568 pixels high. Any photos that we receive that are smaller than this size will not be added to the collection for the month specified. Remember you need to be a member of the forum to submit photos in for the background poll.

If you have any further questions or feedback on the new Gallery section, the please get in contact with us as soon as is practically possible. Also the Gallery section will not be fully updated until the 23rd September 2009, when all entries are then received. This will be the same with every consecutive month.
